Benjamin B. Bedford, MD
is a fellowship trained Orthopedic Surgeon who specializes in the treatment of all sports-related injuries as well as arthroscopic and open treatment of knee, ankle, shoulder and elbow injuries. He also performs joint replacement for arthritis of the hip, knee and shoulder.
Dr Bedford has presented research and instructional lectures at numerous orthopedic conferences.  Additionally he has authored research articles in topics related to orthopedics and sports medicine. He currently performs clinical research at the Nicholas Institute for Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma and maintains a special interest in the treatment of throwing athletes, including ligament injuries and cartilage defects.
A native of Bedford, New York, Dr Bedford attended Fox Lane High School. He graduated cum laude from Middlebury College in 2000 with a bachelor's degree in biology and was a four year member of the varsity baseball team. He continued his education at the University of Rochester School of Medicine, graduating in 2004. He completed his Orthopedic Surgery Residency at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City where he was chief resident from 2008- 2009.
Dr Bedford then completed a sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute in Birmingham, Alabama under the direction of James R. Andrews MD. There he received specialty training in advanced techniques in arthroscopic surgery. During this time he also participated in the care of athletes from the Alabama Ballet, Auburn University, Birmingham Barons (AA affiliate of the Chicago White Sox), Tuskegee University, University of Alabama and the Washington Redskins.

Mark De Carlo, PT, MHA, SCS, ATC
is Vice President of Clinical Services for Methodist Sports Medicine / The Orthopedic Specialists, led the development of the physical therapy department over the span of two decades, serving as Director of Physical Therapy for most of those years. He was instrumental in developing a multidisciplinary team approach to rehabilitation in order to ensure the best quality of care for the patients of Methodist Sports Medicine. Mark continues to be actively involved in the progress of the rehabilitation department and still sees clinic patients.
Mark served as President of the Sports Physical Therapy Section from 1998-2004 and currently serves as Executive Director.  He also serves on the Indiana Athletic Trainers Certification Board and is Treasurer of the International Federation of Sports Physical Therapy.   In addition, Mark is an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Sports Physical Therapy.  Mark has numerous publications to his credit and has been recognized by his peers with the following awards:

Stephen J Nicholas MD
is the Founder and current Director of NY ORTHOPEDICS is a recognized authority in the field of Sports Medicine. As Director of the Nicholas Institute of Sports Medicine and Athletic Trauma, the first hospital based facility dedicated to the study of sports medicine in the country, he has continued the renowned research and training in the fields of sports medicine and physical therapy.
Over the years, Dr. Nicholas has dedicated a great deal of time to treating professional, collegiate and amateur athletes. He has served as the orthopedic team physician for the New York Jets Football Club, New York Islanders Hockey Team and the athletes at Hofstra University. He also served as a member of the mayor's New York City Sports Commission.
Dr. Nicholas has been recognized as "One of New York's Best Doctors" by New York Magazine for the last ten years. In 2005 he was accepted as a member of the American Orthopaedic Association which signifies honor and accomplishment in orthopedics and commitment to active leadership in the specialty.
Stephen Nicholas MD is a native New Yorker and a graduate of Harvard University. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College followed by a residency at the Hospital for Special Surgery and a fellowship in Sports Medicine at Lenox Hill Hospital. 

Russ Paine, PT
Russ received a degree in Biology from Abilene Christian University and his Physical Therapy degree from Texas Woman University.  He is currently Director of Rehabilitation and Research for Memorial Hermann Sports Medicine Center/Sports Medicine Institute.  His special interests include injuries to the knee and shoulder, as well as golfing injuries and conditioning. Russ has served as a rehabilitation consultant to the Houston Astros, NASA and is the team physical therapist for the Houston Rockets. He has given over 500 presentations in the U.S. and abroad and has published 20 chapters in textbooks and over 50 papers in peer review journals.
